|What is the average age of students?|
|While the Alliance has students of all ages, the average age is 25. The minimum age requirement is 16 years. Parental waiver is obligatory for students less than 18.|
|What nationalities are represented?|
|Approximately 1000 students come to the Alliance Française de Rouen each year from 70 different countries including: Japan, China, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Australia, Vietnam, Ecuador and Mexico.|
|How many students are there in a class? |
|In general there are 8 -12 students per class.|
|What teaching methods are used? |
Alter Ego (latest edition) is used most, including the version for interactive whyteboards. The Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) installed in our classrooms enable teachers to make full use of the interactive activities.
|I want to sit a French exam (diploma or test). Is this possible with the Alliance Française de Rouen?|
|Yes, the Alliance Française de Rouen is an official exam centre for:
DELF / DALF
TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français):
- TCF General Public
- TCF Access to French Nationality (ANF)
- TCF Québec
|Must I pay exam fees in advance?|
|Yes, registration fees must be paid one month before the date of the exams (see calendar).|
|What are the days and opening hours for registration?|
|Registration is available 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, with the exception of French public holidays.|
|Do I have to pre-register? |
|It is not compulsory. If you don’t need a visa, you can just register and pay the tuition fees at the school no later than the Friday before class commences the following Monday. If you require accommodation through the Alliance française de Rouen, you will have to pay the accommodation administration fee.|
|How may I pay the pre-registration fees? |
|You may pay:|
- Online, on our internet site, with your bank card,
- By bank cheque in Euros,
- By bank transfer (you must send us by fax, mail or email a copy of the transfer order with the registration application form),
Upon receipt, we will send you a receipt for your payment and pre-registration certificate.
Attention: Bank fees are always the student’s responsibility.
|Do I need a visa de séjour in France?|
|If you are a citizen of a country in the European Union, or the Espace économique européen, or Switzerland., you do not need a visa.|
If you are a citizen of country that does not require a tourist visa, you can come to study in France without a visa for a period of less than or equal to 3 months.
In all other cases, you must obtain a visa before leaving your country.
|I hope to come to France as an au pair. Can the Alliance Française offer me a course?|
Yes, the Alliance française offers flexible courses modified to suit au pairs: 30 hour package to use in blocks of 3 hours.
|I am a salaried worker in France. Can the cost of the tuition be covered in accordance with Formation Professionnelle Entreprise (F.P.E.) ?|
|Yes, the Alliance française is an official training organisation. As such, the cost of tuition for people who reside in France and perform a salaried activity may be covered by their employer in accordance with professional training subject to a pre-arrangedr agreement between the employer and the Alliance Française. |
